Scanlon Manor – welcoming your loved ones to the finest country living has to offer
Scanlon Manor offers a warm, family home for that next stage in independent living that includes a balance between privacy and companionship, security and independence, all within the setting of a caring family.
Scanlon Manor accepts seniors, who with the support of the LHIN, can be relatively independent. These seniors may be long-term residents ready to have cooking, cleaning and laundry taken care of for them, residents in need of transitional bridge housing, or residents whose caregivers need some respite.
We are committed to taking the stress out of bridge housing, which is needed when someone is no longer safe living on their own but a good long-term space is not yet available. Having a safe, affordable place to live while waiting is essential.
You will join Dan and Jane, the house co-ordinators, who already take care of Jane’s parents, Jim and Doris. Their large, beautiful home on the main street of Pakenham, has room to add two more seniors and/or a couple to their extended family. Two tastefully furnished rooms on the 2nd floor share a full bathroom and a sitting room. New residents can also bring some of their own things.
Residents are served their meals. Snacks and drinks are also available throughout the day. Shopping and food preparation is taken care of and special dietary requirements can be accommodated. Transportation is also available as is assistance with appointments, as needed.
Privacy and independence are important to everyone and in this family environment where we respect your wishes while offering the opportunity for companionship and freedom from worries and chores.
